Set in 1682 France, this sumptuous costume romance stars Kate Winslet as Sabine De Barra, a talented landscape designer commissioned to create an outdoor ballroom at Versailles for King Louis XIV (Alan Rickman). In addition to the class barriers Sabine encounters, her innovative ideas initially disturb the Sun King’s renowned landscape artist André Le Notre (Matthias Schoenaerts), but as he is drawn to her intimately, André begins to appreciate the value of “a little chaos” in Sabine’s process.
