This year, our annual Filmmaker Highlight event will feature a screening of CAPTAIN FANTASTIC – winner of the Golden Space Needle Award for Best Film at the Seattle Film Festival and the Un Certain Regard award at Cannes for directing and Sundance Film Festival favorite.
CAPTAIN FANTASTIC
Deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, a father (Viggo Mortensen) devoted to raising his six kids with a rigorous physical and intellectual education is forced to leave his paradise and enter the world, beginning a journey that challenges his idea of what it means to be a parent.
Writer/director and actor Matt Ross will be in the house with his new film, CAPTAIN FANTASTIC!
Matt Ross is currently starring on HBO’s Silicon Valley as Hooli CEO Gavin Belson, and is also recognizable from his past roles in HBO’s Big Love and FX’s American Horror Story.
Following the success of CAPTAIN FANTASTIC at both the Sundance and Cannes film festivals, he was named one of Variety‘s “10 Directors to Watch.”
