Filmmaker Don Hardy will present and discuss his new documentary telling the story of The Residents, the legendary renegade sound and video collective from San Francisco. With a history spanning more than 40 years and 60 albums, The Residents remain shrouded in mystery, including the identities of the members, who always perform in masks and costumes. More than a band that plays strange music, The Residents are multimedia pioneers, having paved the way in home recording, video production, animation, CD-Rom, podcasts and web-series. Interviewees include fans such as Les Claypool from Primus and Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons, as well as Penn Jillette (who toured with them), Gary Panter and Jerry Harrison. Writer/Director: Don Hardy. (US 2015) 87 min. plus discussion.
