CFI EDUCATION FREE COMMUNITY CINEMA

VIRTUAL SCREENING & LIVE CHAT

TUESDAY, APRIL 14 • 4:30PM PT

CFI Education is excited to bring you this Community Cinema program that we had originally scheduled in March—now as a special live online presentation!

Haunted by the death of a mentally ill sister, psychiatrist Ken Rosenberg takes on the role of filmmaker to examine our national mental health crisis, through intimate stories of patients, families, and medical providers. Filmed over five years, Bedlam takes us inside Los Angeles County’s overwhelmed and vastly under-resourced psych ER, a nearby jail warehousing thousands of psychiatric patients, and the homes—and homeless encampments—of people suffering from severe mental illness, where silence and shame often worsen the suffering. Director: Ken Rosenberg (US 2019) 84 min.

Join us for this free screening and virtual conversation with the film’s producer, Peter Miller, and mental health experts. Using ITVS’s own Online Viewing and Engagement Experience (OVEE) platform, we are able to combine quality film content with community-building conversation in a single-screen experience. Engage and interact with audience members around the country by asking questions and sharing your thoughts about the film throughout the screening.
