BROADWAY TO HOLLYWOOD WITH RICHARD GLAZIER
RICHARD GLAZIER IN PERFORMANCE
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18 • 7:30PM
Richard Glazier, concert pianist and master storyteller, will give a live multimedia performance dedicated to great movie music, playing and guiding us through a narrative journey that includes songs from the earliest movie musicals (The Jazz Singer, Roberta), through Auntie Mame, My Fair Lady and Cole Porter’s Kiss Me Kate, to the atmospheric themes of Hitchcock’s Vertigo. Along the way he will share clips and fascinating stories about the films, stars and composers, as well as his personal interviews with such Hollywood figures as Lalo Schifrin, David Newman and Daniel Selznick. Pianist Richard Glazier is a leading authority on the music of George Gershwin and the star of two award-winning PBS specials about American Popular Song.
