Based on a true conspiracy theory, this robust and ribald action-comedy is set in Swinging London of 1969 and stars Ron Perlman as Kidman, an unstable CIA agent charged by the US to hire Stanley Kubrick to stage the moon landing, in case the real one doesn’t work out. Rupert Grint (Harry Potter) co-stars as Jonny, a struggling rock-band manager who discovers the plan, covets the cash and attempts to pass off his stoned roommate (Robert Sheehan) as the famous director. Brimming with rich and satirical period touches, this frenetic, sometimes psychedelic, comedy should amuse anyone who knows about the original moon landing…unless you’ve been living in a yellow submarine or something. Rated R. Writer: Dean Craig. Director: Antoine Bardou-Jacquet. (UK 2015) 107 min.
