In anticipation of Earth Day, Dutch filmmaker Renée Scheltema will present a special screening of her new documentary that was four years in the making. In Normal Is Over, she travels across continents investigating the “big picture” of environmental issues, while also looking for solutions. Food production, climate change, species extinction and the depletion of critical natural resources are all areas in which humans have inadvertently put our planet in peril, and this film examines how our economic system connects all these issues. But Scheltema also encounters and interviews many problem-solvers, whose work and activism offer hopeful solutions to these challenges.
