Vienna, 1930: One night Dr. Sigmund Freud (Karl Fischer) greets a new patient, a mysterious count (Tobias Moretti) who can no longer bear the “eternally long” relationship with his wife Elsa (Jeanette Hain). To make it worse, the vain countess incessantly complains about not being able to look at herself in a mirror. Unaware of the count’s true identity, Freud sends him to Viktor (Dominic Oley), a young portrait artist. But while visiting Viktor, the count sees in the painter’s girlfriend Lucy (Cornelia Ivancan) the reincarnation of the lost love of his life (or of his un-death).
