Winner of the Documentary Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival, this touching and inspirational film follows social worker Dan Cohen, founder of the nonprofit organization Music & Memory, as he fights against a broken healthcare system to demonstrate the power of music in combating dementia and memory loss. We visit family members who have witnessed the miraculous effects of personalized music on their loved ones, as well as famed neurologist-author Oliver Sacks and musician Bobby McFerrin, both of whom attest to music’s capacity to reawaken our souls and uncover the deepest areas of our humanity. Writer/Director: Michael Rossato-Bennett. (US 2014) 73 min.
