Paul McCartney and Wings headline this never-before-released concert film culled from several stops on their 1972 European tour. Featuring the original Wings lineup, the concert begins with “Big Barn Bed” from their album Red Rose Speedway before introducing an animated character of McCartney’s own invention and design: Bruce McMouse, patriarch of a family of mice living underneath the stage, who pitches himself to be the band’s producer. Voiceovers for the linking animated segments were recorded by Paul and Linda McCartney, Deryck Guyler, Pat Coombs and Derek Nimmo. Although production was completed by 1977, the project was shelved due to changes in the band’s lineup. Now you can see it, in a beautifully restored and remixed presentation. Director: Barry Chattington. (UK 1977/2019) 55 min.
