IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CHILDREN FOR CHANGE
COMMUNITY ACTIVISM: SHORTS + CONVERSATION
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4 • 4:15
Children for Change (C4C) is a Marin nonprofit that empowers young people to become change-makers with the knowledge, confidence, and empathy to make a positive impact in their world. This special film program is designed in alignment with C4C’s Community Activism course in which students are encouraged to consider some of their own unique interests, curiosities, joys, and skills, and to discover ways they can creatively invite community and cooperation through sharing some of these passions and becoming curious about other people’s experiences and interests.
The short films in this program are all produced by Bay Area filmmakers and focus on members of our local communities. Each offers insight into the ways individuals bring passion and skill to build community—from bread to honey to cheese to sculpture. Following the films will be a dynamic panel discussion that brings young people into conversation with filmmakers, non-profit leaders and community builders.
