This lively performance documentary celebrates the explosion of popular music that came out of Los Angeles’ Laurel Canyon in the mid-60s, as folk went electric and The Byrds, The Beach Boys, Buffalo Springfield and The Mamas and the Papas gave birth to the California Sound. Jakob Dylan speaks with Brian Wilson, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Steven Stills, Michelle Phillips, Roger McGuinn, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Jackson Browne, John Sebastian, Lou Adler and Tom Petty (in his final filmed interview). Dylan also performs their classics on stage and in studio with such contemporary collaborators as Beck, Norah Jones, Fiona Apple, Regina Spektor, Cat Power, Jade Castrinos and others.
