Filmmakers Shoshana Cathy Korson and Drow Millar will present and discuss the first screening of this film that Korson shot while living as a Buddhist nun in Myanmar (aka Burma). So much has been reported about the politics in Myanmar that Korson set out to capture the simplicity, beauty and refinement of the country. The film journeys to the Suvanabhumi, the Golden Land in the Mon State of Myanmar, virtually untouched by the modern world, with many ancient Buddhist pagodas recently rediscovered and renovated by the abbot of the monastery, the Venerable Kyaithisaung Sayadaw. It has become a vital part of the country of Myanmar and remains essentially unchanged from the time when Buddhism first came there 2500 years ago. Editor/Producer: Drow Millar. Producer/Director: Shoshana Cathy Korson. Film 65 min. plus discussion.
