Following the Royal Shakespeare Company production of Richard II that we presented last fall, RSC Artistic Director Gregory Doran continues his exploration of Shakespeare’s history plays with an epic, comic and thrilling vision of a nation in turmoil. Antony Sher returns to the company to play the comic knight Falstaff, joined by Jasper Britton as Henry IV and Alex Hassell as Prince Hal. With his crown under threat, Henry IV prepares for war, while his son Prince Hal languishes in the taverns and brothels of London in the company of the notorious Sir John Falstaff. This production in traditional dress will be filmed live in mid-May, when the running time is confirmed. Estimated length is 210 min.
