In this Sundance favorite, Paul Eenhoorn and Earl Lynn Nelson star as two ex-brothers-in-law, seniors who set out on a road trip through Iceland, hoping to reclaim their youth. Their picaresque adventures, from Reykjavik nightclubs and trendy spas to the rugged outback, are a genial throwback to bawdy road comedies as well as a candid exploration of aging, loneliness and friendship. “Gracefully and gradually,” writes critic Amber Wilkinson, “the film takes in romance, regret and wistful longing at the same time as celebrating the people these men have spent their whole lives becoming- all while the humorous camaraderie continues.” Rated R for some language, sexual references and drug use.
