Tom Hardy’s performance as Ivan Locke is a tour de force in this intense drama from British filmmaker Steven Knight, the writer of Eastern Promises and Dirty Pretty Things. A successful construction engineer dedicated to job and family, Locke nevertheless finds himself preoccupied with a personal mission and undertakes a two-hour drive to London the night before the most important project of his career. A phone call provokes a series of events that might unravel his marriage, his job and his very soul. Taking place over the course of one absolutely riveting car ride, Locke is a thrillingly unique cinematic experience depicting a man fighting to salvage everything that is important to him.
