Filmmakers Ashley Bell and John Michael McCarthy will present and discuss a special screening of their new documentary, in which they join a daring mission to rescue Noi Na, a 70-year- old, partially blind, trekking elephant, and accompany her 500 miles across Thailand to freedom. Led by renowned elephant conservationist (and Time Magazine “Hero of Asia”) Saengduean Lek Chailert, the rescue mission exposes the plight of Asian elephants and the people who work tirelessly to save them. This heartwarming film aims to ignite a sense of hope and a new way of thinking about this fascinating species. Camera/Editor/Writer/Producer: John Michael McCarthy.
