THE MAN WHO KILLED DON QUIXOTE
OPENS FRIDAY, MAY 10
After 30 years of obstacles (not to mention several changes of cast and crew), visionary filmmaker Terry Gilliam has finally made his passion project. Adam Driver stars as Toby, a disillusioned director of TV commercials, who is jolted from his ennui when a mad Spanish shoemaker (Jonathan Pryce), believing he is Don Quixote, recognizes Toby as his squire, Sancho Panza. Their epic adventures weave fantasy and reality, crossing time barriers, as they reflect episodes in Miguel de Cervantes’ original story. Fellow travelers in this surreal and frenetic comedy-adventure include Stellan Skarsgård, Olga Kurylenko, Sergi López and Rossy de Palma, and they’re all here to prove that Terry Gilliam didn’t spend all those years tilting at windmills! Writers: Terry Gilliam, Tony Grisoni. Director: Terry Gilliam. (Spain/Portugal/France/UK 2018) 132 min.
