FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT’S MASTERPIECES

SUNDAY, JULY 28 • 2:00

IN PERSON: FILMMAKER MICHAEL MINER

If you asked him, architect Frank Lloyd Wright would probably dismiss the idea that his buildings were Masterpieces, that any one building was better than the next, because in his mind, that would preclude the possibility that ALL of them were Masterpieces. While he did designate red tile signature plaques to some fifty works for which he had created every detail, and had built without deviation from his precise specifications, Mr. Wright most likely felt about his buildings the way one feels about their children, that he loved them all equally.
“Masterpieces”, filmmaker Michael Miner’s fourth feature on Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, catalogues 8 of Mr. Wright’s finest projects, including such famed structures as Fallingwater, the Johnson Wax Administration building, and Wingspread, plus the lesser known gems Cedar Rock, the Stanley Rosenbaum house, and the multi- building complex Auldbrass, Wright’s seldom seen, modern interpretation of a southern plantation.
Producer/Director: Michael Miner. (US 2018) 96 min. plus discussion.
