SITTING DOWN WITH RUTHE STEIN WILL BE PRESENTED  AT THE SMITH RAFAEL FILM CENTER

Ruthe Stein is the founder of the Mostly British Film Festival in San Francisco, and she covered movies for 50 years for the San Francisco Chronicle. Join Ruthe for an intimate discussion of her work and a special 20th anniversary screening of Bridget Jones’s Diary.

This program celebrates the publication of Ruthe Stein’s new book, Sitting Down with the Stars: Interviews with 100 Hollywood Legends. She will be signing copies of her book in the main lobby at 6:30pm which will be available to purchase at the Rafael for this special event.

Onstage at 7:00pm Ruthe Stein will discuss some of her most memorable interviews and share audio excerpts of some, including Paul Newman, Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Robert Redford, and Hugh Grant and Renée Zellweger, stars of Bridget Jones’s Diary.

Following the stage discussion, the Rafael will screen Bridget Jones’s Diary at 7:30pm. Bridget (Renée Zellweger) celebrates the New Year by starting a diary, and now the most provocative, erotic and hysterical book on her bedside is the one she’s writing. Also starring Hugh Grant and Colin Firth,Bridget Jones’s Diary is a favorite romantic comedy of many viewers.
