Direct from its Sundance premiere, where it received the Social Impact Filmmaking Award, this timely documentary follows the struggles of clinic workers and lawyers on the front lines of the battle to keep abortion safe and legal for millions of American women, many of them poor and uninsured. Since 2010, hundreds of laws regulating abortion clinics have been passed by state legislatures, particularly in the South. Known as TRAP laws (or Targeted Regulation of Abortion Providers), these regulations generate higher costs to clinics and additional restrictions for compliance. The constitutionality of these laws is the subject of a landmark case to be decided soon by the U.S. Supreme Court. Producer: Marilyn Ness. Writers: Dawn Porter, Sari Gilman. Director: Dawn Porter. (US 2016) 83 min.
