Voted Best Foreign Language Film by the National Board of Review and Argentina’s official submission for Academy consideration, the brainchild of filmmaker Damián Szifrón was Cannes’ talk of the town and possibly the most purely entertaining movie in the Competition. This ingenious medley of six different moral tales, about characters responding to stress with extreme behavior, ranges from road rage and parking violations to murder and legal corruption, and conveys both the exhilaration and the hazards of losing control.
